Why do I need financial education?

Do you feel like the world of money, finance and investing is not your cup of tea? Do you end up ignoring your personal finances because you’re intimidated by the subject?

Or perhaps you feel like you’d be better off just outsourcing your entire financial life to someone else?

True - there’s an entire industry dedicated to managing other people’s money so that they don’t have to do it themselves. The idea seems simple - focus on your job or your business, and leave your financial life in the hands of a professional.

Unfortunately, it isn’t really so simple.

Yes - you could hand over all your money to a professional, and hope they do a good job handling it. But what type of professional are you going to hand it over to? There are different professionals for stock investing, different ones for real estate investing, different ones for insurance advisory, and so on. All of them are going to be vying for your money. How do you decide who to allocate how much to?

More importantly, how do you know if their advice genuinely serves your interests or is driven more by their ulterior motives?

Wouldn’t you want to have the confidence to question them if required? To understand what they’re recommending and what they’re doing with your hard earned money?

This is where financial education comes into play.

You need to have at least a foundational level of knowledge on how money, credit and the investment markets work.

This way, you can control your financial destiny instead of leaving it to chance. You can tell your money where to go, instead of wondering where it disappears and why you never seem to have enough.
